put a verb on it, and inside each track in Sonar, it gives you send sections where you can set the levels, etc. you go into Console view, create a bus track. how does one create a reverb bus this way. Never knew about the folder parent thing as a bus. And one kind of channel does it all.ĭammit, you other guys have been faster! I'm a slow typer. Sequencer view: do the same by click and drag the I/O button to the receiving track.

As soon as you move the mouse away from that send area the cursor becomes a jack symbol -cute:-) Done.Ĭlick the send area in your channel and drag the cursor to the channel you want to be the receiver. See that blue line on the lower edge of that bus track appearing? Good! Now drag it slightly more up until that blue line slips a bit to the right. Now drag the first of your selected tracks to the one that is going to be your bus. Think of what you want to do instead.Ĭreate a new track (this is gonna be your bus track - or folder track) (actually you get any required info from the downloadable manual)ĭon't focus on where to click.

I guess the reason why reaper doesn't mention how to handle that send/group/younameit thing is because it is so easy. From Kontakt I will then either just let it play (using the Kontakt internal mixer) or send from it to other individual tracks. I put the VST (Kontakt) on the top parent FX and then put child tracks beneath with separate MIDI feeding up to the main instrument. I also use this for multi-channel instruments like Kontakt. You can also make sub buses with folders, i.e. If you have SWS there is also a nice function to automatically set up a bunch of selected tracks making the first track the bus/parent. Et voila - instant bussing without messing with sends and stuff.Įdit> A quirk of using folder tracks is that the parents always will be located above the children in the tcp and to the left of the children in the mixer. Watch for when the blue line becomes indented, and then release the mouse button. Just create a track that you would like to be the folder track (bus), select all tracks that you would like to bus to that track, and then drag these tracks to below the folder track in the track control panel. Keep in mind that the first track then becomes the parent, and all tracks within the folder will be children to that track. Much quicker and very intuitive when you get the hang of it. I’m frustrated enough that I’d even PP you a few bucks if you wanted it lol.For regular bussing duties I would advice new users to utilize the folder system instead of using sends. If anyone sees this and knows how to do it, I’d really appreciate you taking the time to type it out, or even better take a few step by step pics to show me the process. I want to have a dry DI track in Reaper go out of my interface which is an Apogee Duet (2 ins, 2 outs) and go from there into my pedalboard, then into the GP/DI and back onto another track while monitoring the effected track in real time.Īpparently I need some help to accomplish this, because no matter what I’ve tried I can’t get this. What I want to do seems to me to be very simple and should work, from everything I’ve read.

I’ve seen numerous people say how great this is for reamping, (even in posts on this forum) but apparently I’m an IDIOT and I cannot figure this out.

Tones are fantastic, feel is awesome, and I’m glad to be back into tubes again. So I’m back in the Fryette camp with the GP/DI after falling down a modeling hole for about 3 years, and I’m loving it.
